Meet the Founders

Together, Erin and Keri bring operational insight, client-facing strategy, and a deep understanding of what it actually takes to run a design business.

Operations & logistics

Keri Hinterreiter

Keri is a dynamic and motivated professional with a proven record in supporting designers as they manage projects and all the logistics involved. Prior to starting the Collective she was the Director of Operations for a full service interior design firm, and is intimately familiar with all of the pieces needed to help the business and the designers thrive.

She loves partnering with the design community to build up their business, strengthen their confidence, and further their success. She knows that this community has given her the courage to try something new and she’s eager to offer that support back.

Keri is known among her friends for chewing nearly a pack of bubblegum a day, for her love of people and playing tickle monster with her kids.

Client strategy

Erin Hildmann

Erin, aka the client whisperer, reliably distills complex information into an easily relatable message. She is a mobilizer, bringing momentum, decisiveness, and a bias for action. Prior to starting the Collective she was an Account Manager working alongside designers to support the clients and an Event Planner ensuring the projects and client experience would result in rave reviews.

Her delight is when she sees a designer’s shoulders relax and eyes light up when she can come up with an easy to implement solution to a problem that the designer has been struggling with.

Erin is known among her friends for her love of dogs, weird produce, and dad jokes.

Our philosophy

Why We Work This Way

Through years of working alongside interior designers, we saw how often talented creatives lacked access to business coaching that truly understood the realities of the design industry (pricing, clients, capacity, and growth).

We’ve also seen firsthand that there’s no single “right” way to run a design business. Different firms, clients, markets, and seasons of life require different approaches. Too often, designers are handed advice that doesn’t account for that nuance.

At The Collective, we don’t believe in prescribing one model or forcing designers into systems that don’t fit. Instead, we help designers understand their options, evaluate what aligns with their goals and values, and build businesses that actually support their lives.

That means listening before advising. Asking better questions. And creating clarity instead of adding noise.

This philosophy shapes everything we do, from our Foundations Program to Strategy Sessions, and even the way our community shows up for one another.

Ready when you are

Let’s start with a conversation.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you. If we are, we’ll outline clear next steps.

This is a low-pressure, 30-minute conversation designed to give you clarity.
